Orthopedic Care
It focuses on the prevention, assessment, and management of disorders affecting the bones, joints, muscles, ligaments, and tendons.
The primary goal of orthopedic care is to restore the patient's function, mobility, and quality of life. Our physical therapists are trained to diagnose and treat a wide range of orthopedic conditions, including fractures, sprains, strains, joint dislocations, tendonitis, bursitis, arthritis, and post-operative rehabilitation.
Some treatments involve:
Therapeutic exercises: Specific exercises are prescribed to strengthen weak muscles, improve flexibility, restore range of motion, and enhance overall functional abilities. These exercises may include stretching, resistance training, balance training, and functional movements.
Manual therapy: Our physical therapists may utilize hands-on techniques to mobilize joints, manipulate soft tissues, improve joint alignment, and promote healing. Techniques like joint mobilization, soft tissue mobilization, and manual traction may be employed.
Modalities: Modalities such as heat therapy, cold therapy, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and laser therapy may be utilized to reduce pain, inflammation, and promote tissue healing.
Functional training: Once the patient progresses in their rehabilitation, functional training is incorporated to simulate real-life activities and improve the patient's ability to perform daily tasks or sports-specific movements.
